Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Welcome to our FAQ page! Here, we’ve compiled answers to common questions about our premium red wigglers, how we breed them, and how they can enhance your gardening and composting efforts.

1. What types of worms do you breed?

We specialize in breeding premium red wigglers and european nightcrawlers. Our worms are carefully bred to be hardy and efficient composters, making them perfect for gardeners and compost enthusiasts.

2. Why choose red wigglers or European NightCrawlers for composting and gardening?

These worms are highly efficient in breaking down organic matter, making them ideal for composting. They also enhance soil quality, improve nutrient availability, and promote plant growth, making them perfect for garden applications as well.

3. How do I care for my worms?

Our worms require a moist and dark environment to thrive. You can feed them organic kitchen scraps (like fruits and vegetables) and bedding materials like shredded newspaper, cardboard, or coconut coir. Avoid feeding them acidic, salty, or spicy foods as these can harm them.

4. How many worms should I get for my compost bin?

The number of worms depends on the size of your compost bin and the amount of waste you plan to compost. A good starting point is about 1 pound of worms (around 1,000 worms) per square foot of composting space.

5. How quickly do worms reproduce?

Worms reproduce relatively quickly under the right conditions, with red wigglers, producing cocoons every 7-10 days. Each cocoon hatches 2-3 baby worms, which grow to maturity in about 14 weeks.

6. What is the lifespan of a worm?

Under ideal conditions, red wigglers and european nightcrawlers can live up to 3-4 years. Proper care can keep them healthy and productive throughout their lives.

7. How do I set up a worm composting bin?

To set up a compost bin, you’ll need a container with proper ventilation, bedding material, and some moisture. Add your worms and organic waste gradually to avoid overwhelming them. We provide a starter kit with all materials and instructions to get you started.

8. Can I keep worms indoors?

Yes! Worm bins can be kept indoors as long as they’re maintained properly. They’re odorless if managed correctly and can make a fantastic, eco-friendly indoor composting solution.
